The latest information and regulation received by KHDA states that all school staff including administrators, workers and third party personnel must complete a PCR test and receive a negative result before they can start teaching or working at school. We are aware that schools are being given guidance to visit a designated testing center at a given time interval.
As we await our turn at ISAS to receive a testing schedule and given that the results need between 24 to 48 hours to be delivered and tallied as negative, we find ourselves forced to revisit and change our reopening plans for students’ presence on campus.
Hoping that all goes as planned and that we receive notice to take the PCR test within this week, we present below the revised opening plan:
- Distance Learning for all students in grades 3 to 12 (Group A and Group B) will start as originally scheduled: Sunday, August 30th, 2020 (From 13:00 to 16:25).
- First day of KG1 to Grade 2 will be Sunday, September 6th, 2020. All students will be attending daily. (From 8:00 to 1:00)
- Group B students in grades 3-12 will have their On Premise Learning as originally scheduled on Sunday, September 6th, 2020. (From 8:00 to 11:30)
- Group A students in grades 3-12 will start their On Premise Learning on Sunday, September 13th, 2020. (From 8:00 to 11:30)
We apologize for this forced change, we accept it as a necessary arrangement for provision of extra measures to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff and parents. We will keep you updated if any further developments occur.
We thank you for your understanding.
